BacktoSchool2This month, we welcome students back to school for another year of healthy and delicious school meals! Our talented team of food service professionals registered dietitians and registered dietetic technicians are focused on offering the most wholesome and nutritious meals possible while balancing nutrition guidelines, menu requirements, and customer preferences.

When it comes to school nutrition, our culinarians are always finding new ways to embrace current food trends and develop well-balanced meals that are flavorful and popular with students. Getting creative in introducing new foods to younger palettes is our specialty.

School nutrition has experienced a major transformation over the past decade, with more emphasis on whole grains, fruits, and vegetables and an effort to decrease the amount of calories, fat, and sodium in school meals.  Whitsons has welcomed these changes as stronger support for the development of higher quality ingredients from manufacturers, allowing us in turn to create meals that properly fuel growing minds and bodies.

To learn more about your child’s school nutrition program, speak with your Foodservice Director. To learn more about Whitsons, connect with us on online to see what’s cooking in school nutrition.
